THE BATMAN EXPERIENCE

To celebrate Batman going into the Comic-Con Hall of Fame, AT&T needed a hero to help them bring the Caped Crusader’s history to life. We answered the call.

We created 3 distinct activations within the Comic-Con museum that let fans immerse themselves in Gotham City and feel like Batman for an unbelievably thrilling moment.

The Dark Knight Dive – An indoor skydiving booth where you could strap on VR googles and fly through Gotham while experiencing the feeling of weightlessness.

Rogues Gallery Rumble – An interactive villain-punching experience with visuals and sound effects based on the original comic book and TV series.

The Batcave – A stylized area where guests could take a break and play every Batman game ever made, starting from the original Nintendo game.

The experience coincided with a special gala inducting Batman into the Hall of Fame and was supported with print and interactive pieces in local stores, as well as strategically placed mobile fleet teams.

The initiative also had a robust social media plan, with live teams shooting, editing, and posting on location.

Fans and critics alike exclaimed “Holy Gold Clio Award, Batman” with praise for the use of VR and experiential to bring the Dark Knight to life.
